The potential demand for plastic products in Asian countries is enormous
Recently, at a plastic products market seminar held in Dhaka, some European manufacturers stated that as the use of plastic products in developed countries decreases, Asian countries are becoming emerging markets for plastic products.
It is reported that the demand for hangers and plastic utensils in Bangladesh's garment industry is showing a significant growth trend, with a current market size of about 4 billion taka. Last year, Bangladesh imported $40 million worth of raw materials such as polypropylene. The demand for plastic products in other Asian countries and the Middle East has grown by 6% in recent years, and global polypropylene production is expected to double to 3.5 billion tons in 2013.
